THE CHALLENGE
The core challenge of the INA Office was to design a space that authentically merges Japanese culture with UAE heritage, not as a surface-level aesthetic, but as a deeply embedded design language. The client sought an environment that represents their brand identity while reflecting their presence within the regional context of the GCC. This required finding meaningful similarities between both cultures, such as respect, craftsmanship, hospitality, and precision, and translating these shared values into spatial planning, materiality, and detailing. The space also needed to function as a high-level corporate office, accommodating executive use, delegation meetings, and daily operations within a refined and calm environment.
OUR APPROACH
Our design process began with immersive 3D modeling, visualisation, and walkthroughs, to align every spatial and asthetic decision with client’s vision. The design concept was structured around cultural parallels, blending Japanese minimalism with the warmth and symbolism of UAE architecture. Space planning focused on clear zoning, ceremonial arrival, and fluid transitions between public, executive, and working areas. A defining feature of the project was the decision to custom design and manufacture all furniture in-house, a first for Abvtek. Every piece was carefully crafted to reflect the design language, with bespoke details that reinforce cultural storytelling through form, proportion, and materiality. Natural stones, refined timber finishes, textured surfaces, and metal accents were layered to create depth without visual excess.
THE OUTCOME
The result is a highly refined corporate environment that authentically represents the client’s brand and cultural identity. The client particularly appreciated the depth of detail and craftsmanship expressed through the bespoke furniture and architectural elements. Every edge, junction, and material transition was carefully considered, resulting in a space that feels intentional, balanced, and emotionally resonant. Now nearing completion, the INA Office stands as a distinctive example of how cultural narrative, technology, and craftsmanship can come together to create a powerful and memorable workplace.
